Shipping to Taiwan: your National ID and the EZ WAY app
Why we ask for a National ID or ARC number when a printed deck ships to Taiwan, and how to confirm your parcel in the EZ WAY (易利委) real-name app so customs can release it.
Taiwan Customs requires a real-name check on every parcel imported from abroad. So when your printed deck ships to a Taiwan address, we ask for the recipient's National ID number (身分證字號) — or, for foreign residents, the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) number. Without it, customs holds the parcel and it can't be delivered.
What number to enter
- Taiwan citizens: your National ID (one letter followed by nine digits, e.g. A123456789).
- Foreign residents: your ARC number.
Enter it in the ID field on the shipping-address step when you confirm your printed deck. We include it with your shipment for the customs declaration and use it for nothing else.
The one important rule: everything must match
The name, phone number, and ID you give us must be identical to the details of the person who completes the customs verification. If they don't match, customs can't link the parcel to the declaration and it gets stuck. If the deck is a gift, use the recipient's real details.
When your parcel arrives: confirm it in the EZ WAY app
Taiwan uses a free government app called EZ WAY (易利委) for this real-name check. When your parcel reaches customs:
- Install EZ WAY (易利委) from the App Store or Google Play.
- Complete the one-time real-name registration using the same name, phone number, and ID you entered with your order.
- You'll get a notification asking you to confirm the import declaration for your parcel — tap to agree / confirm.
Once you've confirmed, customs releases your parcel for delivery. You only need to register once; future parcels just need the confirmation tap.
Why this is required
This is a Taiwan Customs rule for all cross-border parcels, not something specific to us — every overseas shop shipping to Taiwan has to collect it. It protects you against your identity being used for someone else's imports.
Prefer not to share an ID?
If you'd rather not provide a National ID, the digital version of your deck (high-resolution images and the print-ready PDF) has no customs step at all — you can download it instantly and print it locally. Contact us any time if you need a hand.
