Questions creators ask
Who can join?
Anyone aged 18 or over who shares with an audience — on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, a blog, a newsletter or a podcast. Big and small audiences are welcome. Once you confirm your email, your link goes live, unless our team reviews your sign-up first.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Joining is free, and there's nothing to buy.
How does tracking work?
When someone clicks your link, their browser remembers it for 30 days. If they buy in that time, the purchase is credited to you. If they click another creator's link afterwards, the most recent click gets the credit. Purchases made on another device or browser, or after cookies are cleared, can't be traced back to your link.
When do commissions become payable?
Each commission is held for 60 days after the purchase, because customers can ask for a refund during that time. After the hold, it moves to your available balance.
Is there a minimum payout?
Yes. You can request a payout once your available balance reaches $50.00. We pay by PayPal, Wise or bank transfer (ACH for US accounts, IBAN elsewhere). Commissions are calculated in US dollars.
What happens if a customer gets a refund?
The commission for that purchase is reversed. If it was already paid out, the amount is deducted from your future earnings.
Do I need to say it's an affiliate link?
Yes, every time. Make it clear wherever you share your link — for example with #ad or “affiliate link” — as the FTC, the ASA and similar rules require.
Can I buy through my own link?
No. Purchases you make yourself, or that use your own email address or account, don't earn a commission.
Can I run ads using the Tails name?
No. Please don't bid on Tails or our other brand terms in search ads, and don't run paid social ads that use our brand name. Share your link in your own content instead.
