Tracking your printed deck
How to follow your printed deck from the atelier to your door with your Tails tracking code, what each step means, and what happens if it runs late.
Every printed order gets its own Tails tracking code — it looks like TL-7K3D-92QX — and its own page showing exactly where your deck is. You'll find the code in your "on its way" email, on your order page, and in your account.
Where to find your tracking page
Open the link in your shipping email, or go to your order page and tap "Follow your deck's journey". The page updates by itself — you can leave it open on a delivery day and watch it move.
What the steps mean
Your deck's journey has two halves.
At the atelier. Once you approve your cards, they go to our press: printed, cut, counted, and boxed. This is the part that takes the longest, and it's quiet by nature — so we show you what's happening as it happens rather than leaving you staring at a blank page. Collector's Editions have extra steps here (gilded edges, a numbered certificate, a sealed box), because they're genuinely finished by hand.
On the road. Your parcel is handed to a courier, travels, arrives in your country, and is delivered. Once it reaches your country we'll also show you the local courier and its reference, so you can arrange a redelivery or a pickup directly with them if you need to.
How long does it take?
Production starts when you approve your deck for print, and how long it takes depends on your edition:
- Deluxe printed deck — up to 14 business days (premium 350gsm card stock, velvet keepsake pouch).
- Standard edition — up to 21 business days (the same complete deck on smooth card stock, shrink-wrapped).
- Collector's Edition — up to 21 business days, because it's hand-finished.
Delivery time is then added on top, and your tracking page always shows an estimated window rather than a single date, because the last part of any journey is the least predictable.
Why it's a window and not a promise
Your deck is made to order. Nothing is pre-printed and waiting in a warehouse — there is no finished copy of a deck starring your pet anywhere in the world until you approve yours. Approving it starts a print run of exactly one: printed, checked card by card, finished and packed for you alone.
That is why we quote a window rather than a delivery date, and why an order can occasionally run past it:
- One-offs can't be rushed like stock. Mass-produced items ship the next day because thousands of identical copies already exist. Yours starts existing the day you approve it.
- Quality is checked deck by deck. Because no two decks are alike, we can't spot-check one and assume the rest are fine — and a card that isn't right gets remade rather than shipped.
- Handwork takes real hours. Especially the Collector's Edition, which is finished by hand.
- The road isn't ours. Courier routes, paperwork, weather and local public holidays all shape the final days.
We know a slow week is frustrating when you're waiting for something you're excited about. We'd still rather take the extra day than send you a rushed version of a keepsake that was only ever made for you.
If it's running late
If your deck passes the window we promised, the tracking page will say so plainly and keep updating. Your deck is a real object, made specifically for you and impossible to give to anyone else — it is still coming, and nothing is lost.
If it goes well past that, the page will invite you to contact us. Please do: send us your tracking code at support@tails-ai.com and we'll look at your specific parcel and make it right.
Is my tracking link private?
Your tracking code is unique and unguessable, and the page shows only your city and country — never your street address or your name. It's safe to keep, and safe to close: you can always come back to it from your order page.
